Following the pandemic, inflation has risen above central bank targets. The inflation currently exceeds 3 percent in Britain and 5 percent in the US. In Sweden inflation reached 2.8 percent in September. The world has experienced a surge in energy and food prices. Moreover, other costs such as shipping prices are rising too. Is the world experiencing a short term surge in prices or is the world going back to the 1970s? How will central banks respond?

The Swedish Society of Business Economists (SIMRA) is delighted to invite Professor Jonathan Haskel, Member of Monetary Policy Committee at the Bank of England for a discussion on inflation.
